Job Announcement
FireFighterApp has partnered with the Rhode Island Association of Fire Chiefs (RIAFC) to offer regionalized testing and recruitment. A Figherfighter Entry Level Examination will be conducted twice a year in order to find qualified applicants to fill open positions for Firefighters in our member communities. Please see the participating agencies listed at the bottom of this page. Any candidate may choose to re-register & re-test to improve their score at any subsequent testing session.
How It Works
Results will be accepted by 22 agencies!
Your two-year application eligibility period begins on the day you take the exam. During this 24-month period, you may apply for any position advertised by a department participating in the RIAFC testing program, provided you meet that department’s requirements, as well as any other department-specific prerequisites.

Details | The R.I. Association of Fire Chiefs is conducting a centralized, entry-level firefighter candidate written test that is being broadly accepted by 22 fire departments across Rhode Island. There will be a morning session and an afternoon Session. Exact times and test location will be announced at a later date. The testing fee is $100 (non-nonrefundable.) Participating Departments
Jobs close at 11:59 PM (Eastern) on the deadline date specified, or when the position capacity has been met, or unless otherwise specified in the announcement. If the deadline date is not specified in the announcement, the agency has sole discretion on setting the deadline and jobs may close without notice. It is the applicant's responsibility to thoroughly read and understand the deadline requirements and capacity limits as outlined by the agency.
Applicants are responsible for checking their email and logging into their PoliceApp, PublicSafetyApp, FireFighterApp or EmployementApp account to monitor for emails, scheduling and process updates.
