Webster Police Department
The Webster Police Department currently has 33 full-time police officers. We are a progressive, proactive, and community-minded organization. We have five members in the Detective Bureau, two of whom are assigned to two Federal Task Forces: the FBI and the DEA.
We also currently have three canine officers. One is assigned to the School Resource Officer and serves as a Community Resource Canine. The other is a Narcotics Detection Canine authorized to sniff people. Both will be trained to make "friendly finds." We are obtaining a third Canine, which will be utilized for tracking and apprehension work.
We also have a very active Marine Patrol, which is the primary law enforcement response on Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg during the summer months.
Officers are also able to participate in several specialty units, such as SWAT, Drones, Accident Reconstruction, and the Motor Unit, as we are very active members of the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC).
Many of our officers have ancillary duties and responsibilities that allow them to expand on their abilities and further their growth as officers.
