Hampden Police Department

The Hampden police department was established as a full time agency in 1965 and is now comprised of 10 full time Officers along with additional reserve Officers, with three Sergeants and a Detective. Officers have opportunities to work in training roles and actively engage in criminal investigations, and to engage in community policing within town. The department itself is a modern facility and we pride ourselves on being a family of dedicated law enforcement Officers who contribute to well-being of our residents and safety of our community.

The purpose of the Hampden Police Department is to serve the people of Hampden by ensuring the livability, safety, and security of the community through fair and impartial law enforcement.

About Us

The Town of Hampden comprises approximately 20 square miles and a population of 5,500 residents. The Town is part of the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District and is home to Green Meadows Elementary. We border the city of Springfield and the towns of Monson, Wilbraham, East Longmeadow and Somers, CT. Hampden is a quiet, rural community with active farms, various restaurants and is home to many small businesses.
