The Woolwich Township Police Department is recruiting for the position of full-time police officer.  We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking individuals for our police department.  We are accepting applications from certified applicants only.

2025  Starting Salaries

Certified (NJ Police Training Commission Basic Course for Police Officers Certification):

  • Salary Range: $51,410.78 - $87,476.05
  • Salary is directly dependent upon prior experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a resident of New Jersey, at the time of appointment, and a Citizen of the United States
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Shall have graduated from high school or possess a General Equivalency Degree (GED)
  • Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license
  • Must not have been convicted of any criminal offense or offenses involving moral depravity 
  • All candidates must possess the ability to adhere to our mission statement, while serving the citizens of Woolwich Township, Borough of Swedesboro, and South Harrison Township.

Department Demographics

We currently employ 36 sworn police officers, 32 full-time police officers, 2 Special Law Enforcement Officer II's , 2 Special Law Enforcement Officer III's, 2 civilian records clerks, and 21 civilian school crossing guards.

Selection Process

The Woolwich Township Police Department’s selection process is designed to identify the most qualified candidate(s) for the position of full-time police officer.

The top candidate(s) in the hiring process will be subjected to a psychological evaluation, medical evaluation, drug screening, and background investigation.
