SANDOWN NH POLICE DEPARTMENT

POLICE OFFICER

The Sandown, NH Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy for the position of full-time Police Officer. We are seeking an individual interested in combining normal patrol operations with specializing in animal investigations.

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred), be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment, possess a valid driver's license, be a U.S. citizen, possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, be able to maintain professionalism while providing quality community safety services while assuring equal treatment for all, and be in good physical condition.  In addition, applicants must not have any record of convictions other than minor offenses.  Selected candidates must be able to receive and maintain certification by the NH Police Standards & Training Council.

Candidates must complete and pass a rigorous hiring process. That includes, but not limited to a written exam, physical agility testing, oral board; psychological exam; polygraph exam and medical/physical exam, and a thorough background investigation. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to maintain physical fitness standards in accordance with NH RSA 188-F: 27.

The Town of Sandown offers a competitive salary range with full benefits, including a four-day workweek, shift differential, and educational incentive.

Full-time Certified NH Police Officers are encouraged to apply and may be exempt from some phases of testing. Prior years of experience will affect placement on pay matrix.
