Process of Hiring Full Time Officer
Pursuant to Civil Service Commission Rules
The Dallas Borough Civil Service Commission has commenced the process of hiring a Full Time Police Officer. Application and other forms required to be completed in order to apply for the position of Full Time Police Officer are available at www.policeapp.com.
A Full Time Police Officer will be selected on the basis of civil service commission procedure/ rules adopted on November 21, 2018, as amended.
- Applications must be received through www.policeapp.com by September 22, 2025. Candidates must complete and pass the police officers' training course (Act 120) approved by the Municipal Police
Officers' Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) prior to appointment as an Officer. Act 120 training completion is not required prior to application. - A written examination will be held at 9:00 am on September 26, 2025, at the Dallas Borough Municipal Building, 25 Main Street, Dallas, PA 18612.
- A physical agility test will be conducted at 12:00 pm on September 26, 2025, at the Back Mountain Recreation Fields, 55 Outlet Road, Lehman Township, PA 18612. Dallas Borough shall utilize the most up to date Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers' Education & Training Commission (MPOETC) Physical Skills Evaluation Protocols.
- An oral examination, which is another mandatory component of the process, will be conducted at a later date/time.
Candidates who are named to the Eligibility List and/or certified to Dallas Borough Council for potential appointment will be subject to any or all of the following, a background check, a medical examination, and a psychological examination. A complete copy of the Dallas Borough's hiring policy, as set forth in its Civil Service Rules, is available for inspection during regular business hours at the Dallas Borough Administration Office.
