TOWN OF EAST HARTFORD
The Town of East Hartford is currently accepting applications for the position of
Supervisor, Public Safety Communications.
Supervises, trains and evaluates Telecommunications Operators on an assigned shift.
Requires High School diploma or equivalent and at least three years of police, fire, or emergency medical dispatch experience. Prior experience with Collect and NCIC is desirable. State certification as a Telecommunications Operator within one year of appointment. Certification by APCO as a Communications Training Officer within one year of appointment.
Ability to successfully complete written and practical tests. Computer experience desired.
Thirty Five hours per week. Shifts includes holidays and weekends. Salary Range $63,196 - $76,423. Benefit package included, visit www.easthartfordct.gov/human-resources.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
- Register on PoliceApp.com in order to take the CPCA Dispatcher written exam. You must pass the CPCA Dispatcher written exam with a score of 70% prior to submitting your application for the Town of East Hartford.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at time of application submission.
- Applicants who successfully pass the written CPCA Dispatcher written exam will be invited (in order of written test score) to participate in a software program practical test. Applicants must also be able to type 25 words per minute.
Applicants certified by the State of Connecticut as a Telecommunications Operator preferred.
