GENERAL INFORMATION

The Manor Township Police Department was formed in May 1969 and has a current staff of nineteen police officers and three civilian support employees. The agency provides 24/7 service to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Manor Township.  The department is responsible for a jurisdiction covering forty-six square miles with 143 miles of roadway and containing a population in excess of 21,500. The community consists of a diverse mixture of residential, commercial, manufacturing, and agricultural areas. For more information go to www.manortwp.org

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

Must be able to perform essential job functions and complete a competitive process including, but not limited to, oral interviews, physical and psychological examination, polygraph examination, and comprehensive background investigation.

Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.

Must have a valid PA operator's license at the time of application deadline.

Must possess current ACT 120 MPOETC certification at time of application deadline and/or be eligible to

take certification exam by end of hiring process or be currently enrolled in a MPOETC police academy with a graduation date within the next three months.

Must be a citizen of the United States.

Must meet or exceed all requirements and conditions for certification under MPOETC Act 120, the Manor Township Police Department Police Officer Job Description, and the MTPD Selection and Hiring policy.

PERFERRED TO HAVE:

Full time municipal or State Police experience within Pennsylvania during the past three years.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • Proper submission and receipt of application, resume, and cover letter
  • Oral Interviews with Command Staff and/or Township Administration (should occur the first or second week of March 2022)
  • Polygraph examination 
  • Background investigation 
  • Medical evaluation 
  • Drug screen
  • Psychological evaluation
  • Final selection will be made from any one of the top three candidates
  • Veteran preference applied to candidates within the top three final positions

THE MTPD OFFERS COMPETITIVE SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • Competitive salary as provided within the existing CBA.  The 2022 starting salary is $51,684 while Officers with up to four years’ experience may start at up to $70,637. The 2022 top Officer salary is $90,987.
